WTFWIT: Charlotte & Me
I started "Charlotte & Me" when I read the one chapter of "A Bird's Eye View" by BreakawayRepublic. First of all, it's off to a fantastic start, so check it out and follow it. At any rate, it sparked some ideas that just wouldn't go away, so I figured I should just get it all out before I went even more nuts than I already am. One of the guest commenters was happy that I set the story in what has come to be known as "Lovecraft Country." The quick and dirty response is that H.P. Lovecraft is one of my favorite authors, so of course I'll use his settings, which he's given his blessing to others to use. I was born, raised, and will likely die in New England, so the regional peculiarities are familiar, and dear to my heart. Plus, it's always easier to write in a town that doesn't really exist.
